REASEARCH
For this project, I was inspired by Japanese workwear garments. Researching the homogeneity of office wear and maintenance attire linked to the Japanese philosophy of restraint, functionality and comfort, my intention was to collide these two worlds and re-imagine traditional western tailoring.
VOLUME STUDY
Documenting draping experimentation, connecting references and re-interpreting various classic blazers by cutting and layering them on a mannequin.
INITIAL SKETCH AND FABRICS
First sketches of the re-imagined suit ensemble; front and back; closed and oped variations. Alongside, fabric propositions: I wanted to use two different types of fabrics, one conventionally used for suiting and one known for workwear garments in order to concretize the layered concepts.
HALF TOILE
Half pinned toiles, studying proportion, cut and silhouette before creating full sewn prototype.
FITTINGS
First and second fitting with Juanita and Madeleine; annotated modifications.
COLLECTION SKETCHES
Creative freehand sketches of the IM/MAGIN/ARE Collection, 10 looks, 29 pieces.

COLLECTION PLAN DAP
Collection plan sorted by garment pieces: varying from outerwear jackets, tailored blazers, vests and layered tops, skirts, trousers, shorts, bralettes and bustiers, and dress. Right: fabric choices and color palette.
FINAL LOOK TECHNICAL SHEET
Imagining the "setting" of the final look - imagine receiving the overview and receipt of your local dry-cleaners, where you will return to pick up your suit set.
